There are currently 1700 members of the bricklayers union in Connecticut.

The wage and benefit package for union employees is identical to the State of Connecticut Prevailing wage rates.

Many projects use a “Project Labor Agreement” which prevents such disruptions.

After initial training of 12 weeks, apprentices work 6000 hours depedning on their specific trade, during which they are given 140 hours per year of related training, before they become journeymen. All journeymen are further trained with a 10 hour OSHA safety course.
